This 1988 Chevrolet C3500 has traveled 14,141 miles since new and is powered by a big-block Chevrolet 454ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Sold to its first owner in Mount Morris, Illinois in May 1988, this pickup has spent the better part of the last 30 years in long-term storage according to the seller, who acquired it approximately one year ago. Finished in two-tone maroon and white over a red cloth interior, this 1988 Chevrolet C3500 dually is offered with a clean CARFAX report, service records, and on a clear Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.
A redesign of Chevrolet pickups for the 1988 model year resulted in the GMT400 platform. This C3500 comes in a two-wheel-drive, regular cab, dually configuration and is finished in two-tone maroon and white with red striping and a matching Brahma high-top bed shell. The body shows little wear as a result of limited use and indoor storage according to the seller. Accessories include a tubular chrome grille guard, diamond-plate running boards, a color-matched windshield visor, cab lights, and smoked window visors. A sliding glass rear window looks out onto the bed which shows scratching consistent with light use.
Eight-lug aluminum wheels wear chrome center caps, and a full-size spare is mounted beneath the bed.
The interior is upholstered with red cloth and seating comes in the form of a bench. Features include Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and door locks. The headliner is shown to exhibit some sagging in the photos.
The instrument cluster contains an an 85-mph speedometer along with surrounding gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 14,141 miles, which are described as original.
The L18 big-block Chevrolet 454ci V8 uses throttle body injection (TBI) and developed 230 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 385 pound-feet of torque at 1,600 when new. According to the CARFAX report, a service was performed at Bergstrom Chevrolet in Middleton, Wisconsin roughly 1,000 miles ago in 2012. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission with a column-mounted shift lever.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The CARFAX report shows no history of accidents or damage, consistent registration renewals since new, and an open manufacturer safety recall dating back to March 1993 regarding automatic transmission fluid containment. An owner's manual is included, and a video is available for viewing below.

@c10 – Has this truck ever had any rust repair or paint work done to it? ...
The truck has never had any rust repair whatsoever. The only bodywork ever performed was a paint buff.
@TCDuran – 1. Noise such as squeaks in suspension, door hinges, etc? 2. Cost to ship to Calif? 3. Shakes in acceleration? Normal driving? 4, Any warranty, even if for only a month or so? Thanks ...
No noise at all on the suspension or doors. The vehicle was kept in a climate-controlled shop and was very rarely exposed to the elements. I will figure out a price to ship to California and get back to you. It runs and shifts very smooth, with no issues with the transmission or shifting. You can expect this vehicle to run like the day it came of the dealer floor. There are no warranties remaining that I am aware of.
@c10 – Very nice truck true survivor,I just wanted correct you on your description of the transmission being a 4 speed automatic ,it’s actually a 400 automatic which is a 3spd but it’s the best transmission out there ...
Thanks for the correction! I will make sure to update the listing.
